A weekend of design, print, illustrations and live music curated by Sophie Brown
Seripop, are two artists Yannick Desranleau and Chloe Lum who live in Montreal, Canada who are driven by a DIY underground music scene creating posters and artwork for their own band AIDS Wolf and other musicians, concerned with experimenting with surrealist and psychedelic imagery. They are some of the most well known and influential artists and illustrators working in this scene. BALTIC is delighted to host a three day event based around the work of Seripop, showcasing bands from the underground UK music scene.
Level 1 performance space will be transformed into an installation made by Seripop of silk screen prints to create a unique environment for two performance nights. The installation will be open to visitors to BALTIC on Saturday and Sunday alongside a fanzine and merchandise stall and a film programme to compliment the event
As part of the Northern Print Bienniale, Seripop will be resident at Northern Print in the Ouseburn Valley, creating a new commissioned print. This will be available throughout the Bienniale from BALTIC shop. As part of this residency Northern Print Biennial will also host a screen printing workshop lead by Seripop.
Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August will see live music gigs take place on Level 1 at BALTIC and feature performances by Hamborghinni, juneau brothers, Cleckhuddersfax, Spin Spin the Dogs, Les Cox Sportifs, A Middle Sex, Beards and more.
