THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE
VIP Private Viewing of artworks by the Debut Artists

7TH SEPT 2011 | 6 – 9 PM

Debut Contemporary reaches it's third quarter, and to celebrate the gallery holds another spectacular Private View on the 7th of September at it's super trendsetting space on Westbourne Grove, London.

The September Issue celebrates Contemporary Art in style with powerful, eye catching, pieces from hand-picked talent including recent graduates as well as more established artists from both the UK and Overseas in China, Japan, Brazil, Iran and the USA. With the start of London Fashion Week excitement and the upcoming launch of 'Alchemy', part two of the Art at Annoushka collaboration this time featuring Debut Artist, Rosie Emerson, we will be embracing the fashion and design cross-over in all it's glory.

We are pleased to announce that the provocatively edgy March Performance Group will be joining us in full costume at the gallery both in person and in Hong Kong via Skype for a performance developed over the internet employing movement through different cultures without verbally communicating. Our resident DJ Erol Sabadosh will be gracing the decks once again with some smooth beats before we head over to our After-Party hang-out spots just down the road at Tiny Robot and The Westbourne House Bar.

Following the launch in March, the Debut team has proudly watched the careers of the artists involved flourish from participation in the Venice Biennale, high profile exhibitions in China and LA, awards and residencies, joining Museum collections and much more, and we reflect on the positive results of the last six months with zeal.

"Possibly the biggest positive change Debut has generated is in my overall increase in confidence, self belief and value in my work and what I know believe is attainable in my career. This change has come as a result in a general increased knowledge of the art industry (which results in more confidence), working with Debut (in terms of appraising my work and hosting an event), and through conversations with yourself which are always very motivating and empowering."

“Debut Contemporary has been a really beneficial experience, it provided insight into all aspects of the art industry, from a wide range of professional perspectives. It provided practical advice and support which helped me to become more professional with the business side of my practice as an artist. It was also a brilliant opportunity to open up many networks, and meet other artists who are at a similar stage in their careers.”

Debut Contemporary is an innovative platform aimed at talented and ambitious artists interested and eager to turn their art practice into a successful career and a viable business. Debut is the only professional development and career empowerment platform of its kind in the UK and follows on from the success the founders Samir Ceric and Zoe Knight, husband and wife duo, achieved through the launch of Salon Contemporary and Wolf & Badger which earned them the industry titles such as ‘One of the UK’s Most Powerful Couples in Art & Fashion’ (The Times Magazines), ‘Kingmakers of Creative Talent’ (International Life Magazine), ‘London’s Top Tastemakers’ (Time Out London), to name a few. The couple appeared in more than 100 publications in the past 18 months and has been labelled by many industry heavyweights as ‘the force to be reckoned with’.

Note to Editors

Debut Contemporary showcases new works selected by a group of internationally bold and provocative emerging artists. Samir Ceric and Zoe Knight are the Co-Founding couple behind enterprising businesses; Debut Contemporary, Wolf & Badger and Salon Contemporary, which are located in the heart of London’s notoriously stylish and bohemian Notting Hill district.
