Oggi visitare l’Aquila è percorrere una città evacuata, in parte perfettamente sigillata nelle tamponature, in parte corrosa dalle lacune che in questi due anni hanno provocato infiltrazioni e ulteriori cedimenti, ed in parte ferita come se il terremoto fosse un fatto recentissimo.

L’intenzione di questo progetto è di amplificare queste diverse temporalità che convivono in una città che ricorda una scenografia in scala 1:1.

Un piccolo gruppo di visitatori verrà invitato a percorrere la città, soffermandosi di fronte ad una serie di figure: elementi architettonici rimessi provvisoriamente in funzione, arredi urbani improbabili, vegetazione troppo rigogliosa che si fa misura di un lungo tempo trascorso.

Ognuna di queste figure, intesa come una comparsa, diventa funzionale alla realizzazione di un’immagine, una visione amplificata degli aspetti riconosciuti nella condizione attuale della città.

Io avrò filmato in precedenza, a camera fissa, le diverse immagini, per 23 secondi ciascuna (la durata della prima scossa delle 3:32 del 6 aprile 2009). I brevi film prodotti saranno proposti a tutte le sale cinematografiche nazionali, come immagine di apertura (muta e senza nome) che precede la proiezione.

Today to visit L’Aquila, means to go through a desert town: on one hand it is perfectly sealed into the devices and the structures to stop the leaks, on the other hand it is corroded by the several gaps which during last two years caused some infiltrations and further sinking; actually in some zones of L’Aquila

the earthquake seems to be a very recent fact.

The intention of this project is to amplify all these different temporalities, that cohabit in a town that reminds a stage design 1:1 scale.

A small group of visitors will be invited to walk along the red zone, and to stop in front of different figures: architectural elements temporary get working, some improbable urban furniture, some too blooming vegetation, that becomes a measure of the long time passed.

Each figure, conceived as an appearance, becomes functional to the realization of an image, an amplified vision of the different aspects I recognized in the actual condition of the city.

I will film (steady camera), each image for 23 seconds (the duration of the first earthquake, h 3:32, the 6th April 2009). The short films produced will be proposed to all national cinemas, as an overture image (a silent, speechless and with no name image), preceding the projection.
